Dr. Nikolaos Maltzaris Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Nikolaos Maltzaris studied at the Medical School of the University of Naples, Italy, where upon his graduation and after the presentation of his diploma thesis “Anatomosurgical contribution to the knowledge of lymphatic diffusion of gastric adenocarcinoma. (Anatomosurgical contribution to the knowledge and treatment of lymph node infiltration of gastric adenocarcinoma)”
He was proclaimed “Doctor of Medicine and Surgery” in 2003.
He completed his specialization in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the “Agios Savvas” Anti-Cancer Oncology Hospital. He was initiated into the art of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery where he gained valuable knowledge and experience.
In particular
He specialized in a wide range of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery such as aesthetic and reconstructive facial and breast surgery, melanoma treatment in reconstructive surgery after oncological surgeries of head & neck defects, restoration of defects in patients with skin cancer, breast cancer and various soft tissue tumors. And as well as in newer aesthetic surgery techniques.
His scientific work includes numerous publications and papers in foreign-language medical journals and presentations at Greek and international conferences, of which he was awarded the Best Free Communication award with the paper “3-POINT SUSPENSION TECHNIQUE OF THE EPIPOLIS MYOAPONEUROTIC FASCIA AND THE MUSCULAR PLATFORM DURING FACIAL AND CERVICAL WRINKLE PLASTIC” 31/10– 2/11/2013: 10th Panhellenic Congress of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Aigli Zappeiou, Athens.
He was awarded a six-month scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, which he utilized while undergoing further training at the United Kingdom Hospital in Newcastle in the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Royal Victoria Infirmary NHS, on the latest developments and techniques in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (breast reconstruction, head and neck defects with microsurgical techniques with autologous tissues, etc.).
In the 2019-2020 academic year, he served as a microsurgery instructor in the 10-week Microsurgery Internship for trainees of various specialties at the “Th. Garyfallidis” Research Center at KAT Hospital. Dr. Nikolaos Maltzaris regularly attends annual international conferences and participates in many working groups and workshops on the latest developments and techniques in plastic surgery.
