Thread Lift – The Bloodless Facelift

Thread Lift Treatment Bloodless face lift and immediate body tightening.

Thread lift therapy , also known as “non-invasive facelift”, is a minimally invasive and almost bloodless method of treating sagging skin and restoring collagen.

Threads are essentially vascular surgical absorbable sutures of various types that are applied under the skin at a specific depth and in a specific direction. Depending on the area to which they will be applied, they “pull” the loose skin so that it looks firmer while at the same time causing neocollagenogenesis and elastin production.

They are biodegradable, and therefore after their application they are absorbed by the body within 8-12 months. However, their action lasts longer as their application causes “injury” and the body begins the healing process and therefore the production of collagen around them.

Threading therapy has been around since the 90s, but in recent years the evolution of materials has advanced dramatically with many new types of threads now available on the market for the implementation of the optimal treatment plan and for longer-lasting results.

Ideal treatment for those who do not want the scalpel

Thread lift treatment is ideal for those who do not wish to undergo a surgical facelift procedure or cannot undergo general anesthesia. The treatment has a much shorter recovery time than an invasive facelift, is much less painful and of course much more economical. No incisions are required and the patient can return to their daily lives the very next day. The treatment is combined with hyaluronic acid and hydroxyapatite fillers to achieve optimal facial lifting.

Safe procedure with immediate results

The threads strictly follow the European safety standards (CE), while they have been used for many years in the medical field in surgical operations for suturing tissues. Their placement is done using special very thin hollow needles in which the threads are already placed, after an hour earlier an anesthetic cream has been used locally or local anesthesia has been applied. Each needle carries a sterile thread, barbed or not, and by simply inserting it into the skin and removing it, the thread remains in the position we have predetermined. These needles have a length of 25 millimeters to 100 millimeters (10 centimeters) and are used depending on the area.

The threads are placed subcutaneously using a specific technique. Specialization in the thread insertion technique is a factor that plays a very important role in achieving a perfect and natural result.

Types of Thread

Depending on the area of interest, the dermatologist or plastic surgeon selects the appropriate type of thread to achieve the optimal result.

Tornado threads suitable for deeper wrinkles, fewer threads. From 60-80 mm, these threads are preferred for greater collagen activation.

Double screw threads suitable for younger patients. From 30mm-100mm ideal for the face and for collagen production through the sensitization of fibroblasts.

Cone & double cone threads

With a special protocol, Polydioxanone PDO Dual technology threads with double cones and PCLA caprolactone threads with single cones with cannula are applied.
Dual threads, either PDO double cones or PCLA caprolactone single cones or barbed, have recently been released on the market and achieve better and longer-lasting results. They also have FDA & CE certification. Caprolactone threads regulate and maximize collagen production. They are indicated for heavy faces with greater sagging and greater skin thickness. Due to their longer-term absorption by the body, the result is longer-lasting.
The threads are applied after detailed measurements of the face have been taken with maximum accuracy.

With the “non-surgical lifting” we achieve:

  • Immediate treatment of facial and body sagging without surgery
    • Activation of collagen production
    • Tightening and revitalizing the skin
    • Improving skin elasticity and structure
    • Creating angles and improving facial contours
    • Body sculpting (tightening & lifting of the abdomen, improving contours, lifting of buttocks-thighs-chest, tightening of loose arms, etc.).

Treatment for all ages

Thread lift treatment is mainly aimed at patients over 30 years of age, who may be experiencing sagging skin, loss of volume and firmness, and sagging facial contours. The older the age, the greater the support needed to create the proper collagen infrastructure.

Of course, even in younger patients, it may be the most appropriate treatment if there has been previous weight loss and consequently the fatty tissue has receded from the skin, leaving it looser.

Special types of double screw threads are also applied to the upper lip in combination with hyaluronic acid treatment to lift the upper lip and achieve a natural result.
