Heterologous mesotherapy

When we say Mesotherapy, we refer to a therapeutic technique of introducing (injecting) pharmaceutical substances into the mesoderm (intradermally) to treat various problems. It is a method that has been applied for over half a century, in several diseases. In recent years, it has been used more and more frequently in the field of Aesthetic Medicine, with the main indications being the rejuvenation of the skin of the face and body (MesoGlow), the tightening of the skin of the face, neck, arms and thighs (Mesolift), the treatment of cellulite, the reduction of local thickness (Meso-Sculpting), in scars, alopecia.

Suitable treatment for both the face and body.

This is a relatively simple and well-tolerated treatment. The treatment, both on the face and the body, lasts about half an hour and, depending on the case, a number of sessions (4-6) are performed every one or two weeks and a maintenance treatment every 4-5 months. It can be performed at any time of the year.

There are several mesotherapy protocols. Depending on the problem we want to address, each time we use a “mixture” of pharmaceutical substances.

Multivitamin preparations (vitamins A, E, C), amino acids, DMAE, metal salts, antioxidants (Q10), procaine, xylocaine, pentoxifylline, caffeine, theophylline, L-Carnitine, hyaluronic acid, polylactic acid, botulinum toxin, lipolytic agents (phosphatidylcholine), Ginko biloba.

How mesotherapy materials work

  • Activate antioxidant enzyme systems
    • Create protection mechanisms against free radicals
    • Hyaluronic acid ensures hydration of the dermis tissues.
    • Vitamins and amino acids help in the reproduction of fibroblasts
    • Vitamins C and E protect cells so that they do not fall off due to the action of free radicals
    • Provide nutrients for the synthesis of collagen and elastin
    • Help in the fight against cellulite spectacularly.

Various methods of application are used, the most common being the injection of substances using a syringe with a very fine needle.

Contraindications of the method

Contraindications to the method are pregnancy, breastfeeding, insulin-dependent diabetes, history of infarction, history of recent neoplasm, history of thrombosis. Patients taking aspirin, anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs are advised to discontinue these for 5-7 days prior to treatment after consultation with the doctor.

The most common undesirable side effects are bruising which disappears in a short time, pain at the injection sites. Rarely, allergies to any of the ingredients, and even more rarely, inflammation and necrosis.

Mesotherapy is a painless procedure that leaves no scars.

For young people it is done to prevent wrinkles, for older people to combat them. The result is an improvement in the texture of the skin, and a smoothing of wrinkles. It also increases the firmness of the skin and the endogenous hydration of the skin, giving it a glow and youthful appearance, since this treatment activates cell regeneration and the proliferation of fibroblasts and therefore collagen.
