What is facial mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is an injectable treatment that gets its name from the fact that it works in the middle layer of the skin. It has the ability to deeply rejuvenate the skin, providing it with all the nutrients it needs to renew its cells and correct the signs of aging. The result? Spectacular improvement in skin texture, hydration, thickness and brightness.

Facial mesotherapy, or mesolift, relies on specific active ingredients to reproduce the ideal conditions for skin regeneration. Depending on the needs of each person, a cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and hyaluronic acid is applied, allowing the skin to regenerate. The great advantage of mesotherapy is that it manages to provide its valuable ingredients exactly where they are needed, and that they act locally without spreading to the rest of the body. Thus, the action is so focused that all the benefit is in favor of the skin.

Step 1

Initially, an assessment is made by the doctor to determine the condition and needs of your face. At this stage, he suggests the appropriate mesotherapy cocktail that can give you the best result. If necessary, a few units of Botulinum Toxin or a small amount of hyaluronic acid can be added to the mesotherapy mixture for a more enhanced antiaging effect.

Step 2

Your skin is cleansed of any dirt and makeup, and then the injection points and boundaries are marked with a white pencil. If you wish, a local anesthetic cream can be used before the treatment, so that the stinging sensation is completely tolerable.

Step 3

Facial mesotherapy is performed either with special atraumatic microcannulas, or with very fine intradermal needles that create small bumps (like bee stings). The duration of the treatment does not exceed 10-15 minutes per area.

Step 4

At the end of the treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and, if desired, covered with special makeup. This is the moment when you can schedule your next appointment and return to your daily activities.

Before treatment

Avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for approximately 7 days prior to treatment to minimize the possibility of bruising or bleeding.

Avoid using cosmetics with 1% retinol in the last two days before mesotherapy.

In the previous 4 weeks, avoid skin exfoliation treatments with chemical peels.

After treatment

For a few hours, the bumps from the mesotherapy injections may still be visible. This is normal. They will completely disappear within 24 hours at the latest.

If bruising appears at any of the injection sites, you can use an arnica ointment topically. They will subside within a few days.

Avoid strenuous physical exercise immediately after treatment.

Swimming in a chlorine pool is not recommended for 3-5 days.

Avoid facial hair removal for at least 5 days.

Use sunscreen with an SPF30+ rating daily.
